What happened to the original site. It was a useful resource for biographers and of interest to film buffs.

I hate to say that my favorite actress is on this list. I was shocked! Her middle-aged skin is beautiful now but in 10 years will have aged remarkably from smoking. I have read that she is well educated & highly intelligent. Why, then, would she self destruct, which smokers do. Maybe because they are successful actors they think they are invincible.
Surely they know, though, that nicotine is no respecter of persons. I will miss seeing her as a beautiful leading lady in films when she looks old and wrinkled, even while she is not old—but is wrinkled. Botox won’t last forever, either. I’m so disappointed in this favorite actress. I guess part of the reason is that both my parents smoked &, even as a child, I thought it looked stupid & smelled worse. Kids are victims of their parents’ stupidity, & this actress is a parent. But smokers don’t think of others—only that they “gotta have another cigarette.”

People don’t have the right to invade the private space of non smokers amd force them to smell that, they have rhe right to do wherever they want when alone and far away enough so they don’t bother other people.

But the worst smokers are not Hollywood celebrities, BUT academic professors & writers who smoked large amount of cigarettes. Feminist writer Simone de Beauvier, Hannah Arendt, Angela Davis & Susan Sontag were heavy chain smokers. Some, like Arendt, died while smoking.

Well, if you don’t like being around cigarettes, smoke or people that do smoke, then don’t walk around them walk another way they have the same fucking right as you do. Maybe showing a little Care instead of putting someone down and criticizing them might help your life in general

Nah, smoking endangers others peoples lives. Not much different than running around pointing a gun at everyone. If it didnt harm others I’d agree with you, but it does. If I had my way people would only be allowed to do it in their houses.Talk about “rights”, I have the right to live!

Smoke on your hair, tongue, teeth, clothes and pillow. It’s a revolting habit that leads to several disease including the infamous COPD and portable oxygen tanks. Yep thats sexy alright. Dated a smoker once and she agreed to give it up. Then she lied to me that she quit. But I smelled her hair above her forehead [smoke always goes there and most women are not aware of it] and it smelt like Marlboro Lights and I said goodbye.

Really disappointing to read all these smokers names on this list.

It’s a dirty, disgusting, filthy habit and not just bad breathe, you can smell the person after they walk past you, that’s really bad when someone can tell you’ve walked past because they can smell you.

I’ve never tried it, I never will. I just don’t understand the addiction of puffing on a stinky stick and blowing smoke out of your mouth. Absolutely disgusting.

I really hate smoking. To me, there is no excuse for it. It causes so many Life Threatening health problems. Makes you look old before you should, stinks, causing others to smell as well that do not smoke and it causes fires if you are not extremely careful, plus it is very expensive to be a smoker. There is nothing good about smoking. I grew up in the 50’s and it seems like so many people smoked. In those days, there were just signs in theaters or restaurants that simply said smoking section but it still travelled rapidly to areas where you were not allowed to smoke so it did not do much good. My two brothers and I grew up with many members of our family that smoked but we hated it and never smoked. We never had the desire. My sister smoked but she quit in time to not get cancer. I was so happy when she quit. My mom finally quit when she was in her 40,s but she still got cancer. She had so many health problems but lived a long life anyhow which she would have lived longer if she had not smoked. California was on of the first states that put laws in place not to allow smoking in public places finally. I cannot believe how many people still have this horrible habit.

I guess the question really is “how much money should be made off of this addiction?”

As far as “incredibly sexy”, take a look at Bette Davis smoking in her later years…. you’re a sick dude if you think that’s sexy.

Do they have a right to smoke? No one in their right mind would consider smoking a fundamental right.

We live in America where we have the right to do whatever we want to whether it’s smoking, which is legal as well as drinking. For people who don’t like people that smoke get over it because you have the right not to be around them and not to be friends with them, but nobody wants to hear your bullshit because it is their right to smoke if they want.

So extremely sad seeing some of these very beautiful girls full of talent & stardom smoking, do these girls realise that smoking is massively unattractive.
Their breath stinks, hey girls you cannot expect a guy to kiss you whenever you are puffing over 3,000 chemicals down your throat, think about it…..
Smoking Cigarettes will kill you in the end, last year I watch my mother take her last breath as she died from Lung Cancer/Brain Cancer, trust me; it wasn’t a very pleasant experience.
